The Enchanted Garden – Mixed Media Art – Imagine discovering a hidden doorway leading to an enchanted garden… what might lie beyond?
In this three-hour mixed-media workshop, participants will create their own magical garden-inspired artwork using layers of paper, botanical imagery, fabric, lace, paint, texture and found embellishments.
Using a doorway, gate or pathway as a starting point, you’ll explore colour, composition and layering while building a whimsical world filled with foliage, birds, butterflies, hidden details and little treasures. Your garden may be wild and woodland-inspired, soft and botanical, mysterious and overgrown, or somewhere that exists entirely in your imagination.
Rather than following an exact design, you’ll be encouraged to make creative choices and allow your own story to emerge through the materials.
No previous art or mixed-media experience is needed. Come along, play with beautiful materials, trust your imagination and enjoy an afternoon of relaxed creativity. You’ll leave with your own unique Enchanted Garden artwork — and perhaps a few new creative ideas waiting to grow.
