Stitched Countryside – Textile Art
Create your own little piece of countryside using layers of fabric, colour, texture and simple hand stitching.
In this relaxed three-hour workshop, you’ll build a textile landscape inspired by rolling hills, open paddocks and the gentle beauty of rural life. Layer beautiful fabric scraps to create your landscape, then add simple stitched details, fibres and embellishments to bring your countryside to life.
Perhaps add a tree, winding path, fence, wildflowers — and, of course, a cow or two grazing in the paddock!
The emphasis is on layering, colour and creative composition rather than complicated embroidery, making this workshop perfect for beginners as well as experienced stitchers.
Your finished landscape will be displayed in its own embroidery hoop, ready to take home and hang.
No previous sewing or textile-art experience is needed. All materials, your embroidery hoop and afternoon tea are included. Come along, slow down and spend an afternoon creating your own little countryside in cloth and thread.
