Artist Profile

David was born in Wales and emigrated to Australia in 1972 settling in Sydney. He had always been drawn to the romance of the South Pacific. David enjoyed painting from a young age and looked forward to painting palm trees, beaches and the crystal clear ocean, like the scenes he watched on Adventures in Paradise. Once he had completed his apprenticeship, the opportunity of going to Australia was irresistible.

However after arriving, he also fell in love with the Australian bush its colours and particularly its trees. Although he enjoyed painting, he didn’t have much time while working and busy with a family.

David has now retired and moved from Sydney to Warilla, where he can indulge his passion. He is captivated by the beauty of his surroundings and has taken thousands of photos of sunrises, rainbows and storms over the ocean, beaches and local landmarks. There is always something to paint, and he has expanded his subject matter, particularly with requests from friends and family.
